What is Peeling?

Removal of dead and damaged layers from the skin is called peeling.

What is Chemical Peeling?

Chemical peeling is a procedure wherein a skin-safe acidic chemical solution is applied on your skin. Peels work till the dermis layer as the chemical penetrates through, gives a little irritation or burning sensation which is quite normal in the sessions. Chemical peels give utmost permanent solution for all skin problems. Layering of the peel solution depends on the intensity of your skin problem.

It resurfaces your skin texture and skin tone for the perfect runway walk. 

What does it treat? 

Chemical peeling helps in treating skin problems such as pimples, oily skin, dark spots, pigmentation, wrinkles, scars, melasma, under eyes.

Each professional has their own way of mixing promotions, elements and the way of application. Chemical peel solutions should never stay on your skin for more than 10 to 15 minutes.

Do's & Don'ts of chemical peeling 

• Do not go out in the sun in peak hours without applying your sunscreen.

• Avoid touching your face frequently.

• Reapply your sunscreen every two hours, whatever might be your sunscreen SPF factor.

• Try to stay indoors on the first 3 days of your treatment.

• Apply sunscreen even if you stay at home.

• Apply the prescribed ointment by your specialist. 

• Avoid going near your kitchen or near hot places. It will cause you more damage and irritation to your skin.

• Use a mild cleanser or lightweight face wash. Do not use soaps. 

• Wear a scarf or a mask which hides your face from sunlight while going out. 

• Avoid using face packs during your treatment period.

• Do not eat spicy and greasy foods 

• Use a soft towel and do not rub your skin too much. 

• Do not shave or wax your skin. 

• Avoid facial appointments.

• It closes your open pores to some extent.

Disadvantages

• Chemical peeling treatments are more costly than the traditional parlor facials.

• You need to take your treatment session regularly.

• You cannot miss your homecare. So you need to stay indoors for a while.

• First few days of post treatment will be a little irritating and itchy. Some can bear the pain and some may not.
